Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners on the plastic surfaces, they could be damaged by them.  The best results when blending firm ingredients are achieved by placing small portions one after the other into the mixer jug e instead of inserting a single large portion.  When processing firm ingredients, cut them into small pieces (2-3 cm).
