[. . . ] Intended Use Items supplied Technical data Please read the safety instructions Positioning the device The operating elements Connecting the device up Switching the device on and off Selecting the operating mode Setting the sound volume levels Setting the sound quality Using headphones CD Operation Operating the cassette player/recorder Karaoke Camera function Connecting external devices Cleaning and care Troubleshooting Disposal CE Conformity Importer Important Warranty Notices Read these operating instructions carefully before using the device for the first time and preserve this booklet for later reference. Pass this booklet on to whoever might acquire the device at a future date. This device is intended exclusively for the playback of (Karaoke) CDs and cassettes, as well as for recording from CDs or other external sources, in domestic situations. This device is not intended for use in commercial or industrial environments. [. . . ] When you have connected the headphones, the built-in loudspeaker is disconnected and you will only hear sound through the headphones. Listening to music with headphones for long periods and at high sound volume levels can lead to hearing damage! For this, slide the switch FUNCTION into the position "CDG". > Take a hold in the recessed grip OPEN/CLOSE and open up the CD compartment lid. > Carefully press the CD, with the printed side upwards, onto the seating axis. After a few seconds the number of titles is blended in to the CD Title Display. Should the device recognise a CD+G, the indicator "CDG" lights up above the switch FUNCTION. Intro With this function you can acquire an overview of the content on the CD. During playback, if you press the button INTRO all titles on the CD will each be played back, one after the other, for 10 seconds. Programmme You can programme in up to 20 titles which will then be played back in your specified sequence. Not only commercially pressed but also CD-R blanks "burnt" on a home computer are supported. Because of the many different kinds of blank discs, computer types, operating systems, burning software and burning processes we are not able to guarantee that every "burnt" disc will playback faultlessly. Not always readable are CDs that have been produced for the commercial field. Interaction with CDs Every CD is enclosed within a hard-wearing plastic coating that protects it from external influences. Nonetheless, you must still always protect the CD against soiling and scratches. Large scratches or other damages can lead to "hangers" or similar malfunctions. For details of the correct interaction with CDs, take heed of the notices on the CD sleeve!CD+G CD+G (CD + Graphics, also CDG) is an Audio CD which contains additional data, such as song texts and/or images, that is displayed on the screen simultaneously with the music. Audio CDs with copy protection As one can learn from the press, the music industry has developed various copy protection processes to defend itself from pirate copies. Unfortunately, not all companies have yet agreed on a universal standard, thus they continually develop new processes or modify the existing ones. These newly released Audio CDs then no longer conform to the normal Audio CD Standard, and it therefore becomes difficult for the manufacturers of CD players to ensure that their devices can assimilate all of the latest copy protection methods. In individual cases it can even happen that a few copy-protected Audio CDs cannot be played back. [. . . ] To clean the sound heads you should ideally use a commercial head cleaning cassette. Do not touch the sound heads with your fingers or hard objects, for example, a screwdriver. For cleaning your CDs, use exclusively cleaning agents permitted for CDs. â· If need be, carefully wipe the CD with a soft and lint-free cloth from the middle to the edge. [. . . ]
