However, the hardware pack contains more than one of some items. 3 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLY & OPERATION NOTE: References to LEFT, RIGHT, FRONT and REAR of the tractor are from the operator’s position. • Before assembly, place the tractor on a firm, level surface, disengage the PTO, stop the tractor engine and set the parking brake. Tractor Model Series700 • Insert a shoulder bolt (C in Figure 2) through a bell washer, (B in Figure 2) and insert the bolt through the lower hole on the support bracket. [. . . ] • Slide the support tube, attached to the grass bag cover, down through the hole on the left side of the mounting brackets. Figure 8 • Align the holes on the hinges of the grass bag cover with the corresponding holes on the support tube assembly. Insert the clevis pin through the hinge on the support tube assembly and then through the grass bag cover. Secure with belleville washer and hairpin clip with the crown side of the washer going against the hairpin clip. Repeat with the second set of hardware through the second hinge of the grass bag and the tube assembly from the opposite direction. See Figure 7. • • • NOTE: It is very important to maintain this order and direction while installing these hardware pieces. After installation, make sure that the grass bag cover pivots on the support tube and opens. On older models: Remove the clip, if already installed on the deck next to the discharge chute Mounting Bracket Figure 7 5 opening, by removing the lock nut, spring washer and hex bolt that secure it. Lock the discharge chute in position by hooking the retainer strap over the grass catcher pin on the deck. Insert the curved end of chute tube into the hole in the grass bag cover. Close the grass catcher cover. • • • • • • IMPORTANT: Be sure to insert the hairpin clip in the upper hole of the clevis pin. Attaching Grass Bag & Cover • Follow instructions for Model Series 600 and 610 tractors, given earlier. 7 Mounting Bracket • Support Bracket Self-Tapping Screw Nut Mount the SMALLER of the three blades to the CENTER spindle. The remaining two blades are interchangeable. IMPORTANT: Use a torque wrench to tighten the blade Shoulder Bolt spindle hex flange nut to between 70 foot-pounds and 90 foot-pounds. • Remount the cutting deck. Attaching Discharge Chute Bell Washer Hitch Plate Follow instructions on page 5 of this manual. Operation • Open the grass bag cover by lifting the cover up. Remove the grass bags by lifting these up and moving the bags away from the support tube assembly. To empty the grass clippings at a proper disposal sight, use the handle at the bottom of each grass bag. Holding the bag firmly, empty the contents.
