The automatic defrost cycle takes place once every 24 hours at the selected defrost time. Duration of defrost cycle: Press key until menu item `Defrost period' is displayed:

Important information for setting the defrost parameters Starting time of defrost cycle: We recommend to program the automatic defrost cycle for a time outside regular working hours as a period of 4 hours should pass after the defrost cycle before work with the instrument is resumed (see also chapter 5. 7. 1 `Automatic chamber defrost cycle'). Defrost cycle duration: The duration of the chamber defrost cycle is set to 8 minutes in factory. This setting should only be changed, if the evaporator is not completely de-iced during the 8-minute cycle. In such cases, increase the defrost cycle duration gradually until the the evaporator is ice-free after defrosting. The selected defrost cycle duration is valid for both automatic and manual chamber defrost cycle.
