Connecting SATA Cables
SATA cables support the Serial ATA protocol. Each cable can be used to connect one internal SATA drive to the Desktop Board. Attach one end of the SATA cable to one of the SATA connectors on the board (Figure 23, A) and attach the other end of the cable to the SATA drive (Figure 23, B).

Chassis Intrusion Header
Figure 24, D shows the location of the chassis intrusion header. This header can be connected to a mechanical switch on the chassis to detect if the chassis cover is removed. This switch should be in the open position when the chassis cover is installed and closed when the cover is removed. Consumer IR (CIR) Headers
The Desktop Board has two CIR headers: the input or receiver header (Figure 24, E) and the output or emitter header (Figure 24, F). The receiver header consists of a filtered translated infrared input compliant with Microsoft CIR specifications and a ?learning?The learning input is a high-pass input which the computer can use to ?learn?The emitter header consists of two output ports which the computer can use to emulate ?learned?infrared commands in order to control external electronic hardware.
