Depending on the over-current protection of the power supply, certain Desktop Board components and/or traces may be damaged. Installing a PCI Express x16 Card CAUTION When installing a PCI Express x16 card on the desktop board, ensure that the card is fully seated in the PCI Express x16 connector before you power on the system. If the card is not fully seated in the PCI Express connector, an electrical short may result across the PCI Express connector pins. Depending on the over-current protection of the power supply, certain desktop board components and/or traces may be damaged. Place the card in the PCI Express x16 connector (Figure 17, A) and press down on the card until it is completely seated in the connector and the card retention notch snaps into place around the retention mechanism pin. Installing a PCI Express x16 Card 42 Installing and Replacing Desktop Board Components Removing the PCI Express x16 Card Follow these instructions to remove the PCI Express x16 card from the connector: 1. Remove the screw (Figure 18, A) that secures the card?s metal bracket to the chassis back panel. Push the card ejector lever down using the tip of a pencil or similar tool in the notch (Figure 18, B). Each cable can be used to connect a single SATA drive to the Desktop Board. Attach one end the SATA cable to one of the black SATA connectors on the board (Figure 19, A). Attach the other end of the SATA cable to the SATA drive (Figure 19, B). Figure 19.
