Removing the Acoustic Cover If you need to remove the acoustic cover for any reason from the paper exit area, follow these steps: 1. Depress the latch tabs while lifting the acoustic cover. Reinstalling the Acoustic Cover To reinstall the acoustic cover over the paper exit area, follow these steps: Note: The figure in this section shows the rear of the printer. If the machine has cables other than the power cord, you must connect them before you plug the power cord into an outlet. Attach the adapter cable (IBM part number 04H5053) by pushing the cable connector into the printer port. Push the clips at each end of the connector into the notches on the adapter cable. Then attach the parallel interface cable to the end of the adapter cable. Push the clips at each end of the connector into the notches on the parallel cable.
