[. . . ] Each of the multi-colored warning lights and indicators illuminates only when required in order to maintain a simple, clutter-free instrument panel.
Simply Red
This is where the driver will appreciate the outstanding comfort, convenience and safety of GETZ. Extra features have been added, such as illumination for the glove box, a driver seat arm rest and audio controls mounted on the new-look steering wheel. Additional safety features include active head rests (optional), a disabling facility for the passenger-side air bag. Visually more obvious enhancements involve the two-tone materials used for the console, doors and seats. [. . . ] GETZ provides a cosy transport haven, whether there is rain or snow
outside, wilting sunshine or shivering frost. Hyundai engineered the car to make sure the occupants are comfortable whatever the climate conditions. The reason is simple: only then will they be able to arrive at their destination feeling fresh, relaxed and safe. The manual, CFC-free air-conditioning system is equipped with an exterior air filter. In addition, there is a four-speed fan and heating and ventilation ducts to the windscreen and rear compartment.
What's round the corner?
The GETZ is a great drive. As you would expect from Hyundai, the road-holding and handling are superlative. The real unknown is what modern living can throw up when on the highway. That's why it's so reassuring to know the car contains multiple air bags and electronic wizardry, high technology and sturdy construction, just in case you meet the unexpected.
SAFETY I GETZ
You can depend on GETZ
Passenger safety is paramount at Hyundai. Thousands of engineers in our technical laboratories devote their working lives to creating and perfecting vehicle systems that will keep occupants safe. These engineers design future models on computers that can instantly calculate how a car's structure would perform in the event of a crash. When they are satisfied, they use controlled conditions to crash real development models into solid objects in order to confirm their calculations. These tests are recorded by a series of high-speed cameras whose film can later be studied in slow motion to see whether passenger protection systems like seat belts and air bags worked according to plan. While this is taking place, chassis engineers simultaneously hone the car's ride qualities, road-holding, handling and braking on closed test tracks. Some of their unsung handiwork is featured here.
Instant protection.
Advanced automotive technology can help to prevent head and neck injuries caused by whiplash. In the blink of an eye, the active headrest (optional) moves upward and forward to cushion the driver's head in a major impact. At the same time, seat belt pre-tensioners clamp the occupant to the seat - even before the air bags go off.
A modern car's body/chassis unit is an engineering marvel. Creating it, though, is a daunting task - one that would be impossible without computer-aided design techniques. The structure has to be as light as possible for good fuel economy, but as strong as possible for durability and safety. The structural integrity of GETZ is achieved by combining stamped and welded sheet steels of varying thicknesses with high strength steel beams and bars for extra side impact protection.
Always on line. GETZ's standard front disc and rear drum

[. . . ] When the rear seats have no occupants, it can be slide downwards into the seat back in order to provide the driver with improved rearwards vision.
