Introduction
Thank you forpurchasing the new Exactpower AC Line Voltage Regulator.
The Exactpower AC Voltage Correction System is designed to provide stable, dean AC voltage with very low impedance . It has been designed and crafted to perform this function for many years to come . Although the operation of the unit is very simple, please read through this manual for the finer details in the setup and function of the Exactpower Voltage Regulator.
Electrical Safety Notice
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture . To prevent electric shock hazard, do not use this polarized plug with an extension cord, receptade, or other outlet unless the blades can be fully inserted to prevent blade exposure. [. . . ] Output Receptacles : The Exactpower unit has five power receptades, which provide 230VAC-regulated voltage under normal operation . These are not isolated from the AC Source; so take the same precautions as one would normally take with the 230VAC power. The two receptacles labeled DIGITAL AC OUTPUTS employ the filters for the removal of high frequency digital artifacts.

Turn-On Events
There are two different ways of powering your equipment. Leave the Exactpower unit on at all times and use the power switches or remote controls on your equipment to power on the system . This may be the
2
most logical way, because many pieces of equipment need power at all times to keep the logic functioning, such as a dock on a VCR . This process of powering your system removes the "turn-on" stress on the power line to a minimum, see item 2 below. If your system has many different units the "in-rush" current to power them may be significant to open the fuse on the Exactpower or trip the circuit breaker on the power service box in your home.
Front Panel Display
On the front panel is a Vacuum Florescent Display (VFD) . This display has multiple functions and provides diagnostics for your Exactpower unit . Each function is described as follows: · · Power On: Upon initial power on, the display reads "Exactpower, EP15A". Output Voltage : The output voltage will be displayed after the power on page times out. Output Current: Push the black button directly below the display and the output current will be displayed . Push the black button again and the display shows output power in Watts rms (Wrms). If you wish to not have the display show any of the above values, push the button again and the display will show a small indicator in the upper left hand corner of the display to indicate that it is on.

Protections
The Exactpower has several protection mechanisms that will protect your equipment as well as your Exactpower unit. · Over Voltage : In the event that the voltage at the input of the Exactpower unit becomes greater than 245VAC the over-voltage protection "turns-off' the output to protect your equipment . The unit will attempt to turn-on again and if the over voltage fault is still present, the unit will turn-off again.

Over Temperature: In the event that the internal heatsink temperature reaches 90°C, the Exactpower unit automatically switches into bypass mode and directly connects the input AC to the output receptades . When the heatsink temperature has cooled, the regulated output will be connected back automatically. Over Current: If the output peak current ever increases beyond 25 Amps p-p, the output of the Exactpower will be switched to the input or will be unregulated. The Exactpower will switch back to the regulated output automatically. If you continuously hear a clicking sound (about 4 sec intervals) in the Exactpower unit, the over-current protection is being triggered continuously. This is due to exceeding the output power capabilities of the Exactpower unit. Under Voltage : If the input voltage ever drops below the 200Vrms the Exactpower will "turn-oft' to protect itself and the equipment connected to it. [. . . ] Begin turning on your equipment plugged into the EP15A one at a time observing the wattage displayed in the display window. If at any time while turning on your equipment the wattage totals 1300 watts or more, immediately discontinue the start-up procedure . At 1300 watts the output of the EP15A is exceeded and can cause the EP 15A to go into a protection mode. In the event you hear the relay in the EP15A clicking repeatedly, turn off the power to the EP 15A. [. . . ]
